Colonel works with mapping the art and culture worlds like an anthropological
field, despite of it concerning an art institution or Denmark. Colonel
use television and other media as exhibition space in his artistic
strategy, following the rules of his moving exhibition manifest.
He investigates cultural distance and "the usual Dane" and other
cultural areas with a focus on intolerance and misjudging kindness.
The artist examines important questions through a humorist and ironic
view. Colonel gets his inspiration from ethnography, anthropology,
and journalism and from the culture-theory.
Active Immigrant
After having explored the cultural distance in his video work as
a professional tourist in Denmark, Colonel then became an active
immigrant. In order to make Danish friends as an immigrant the artist
organised a carriage competition. The day of the event all the Danish
press came but only one person came to participate to the carriage
competition.

A pivotal issue in the treatment of notions of difference has to
do with national identity at the level of the individual. What is
a Dane and what is danishness? How can it be measured?
